I’ve been thinking a lot about doing Cross Country and I am considering trying my hand at swimming instead. The benefits of running are that running through hell with a team does some great bonding work and it is immensely rewarding to finish three miles in under twenty-five minutes. The downsides are that running is difficult and it is hot outside, I get quickly tired of the long season, and feel stressed by the competition within the team.

The upsides of swimming are that it is still a both-gendered sport so the team is going to be good, I have the potential to be a swimming protegé (but probably not), and I enjoy the feel of swimming competitively. What to do?
